Aurora Pediatric Dental Care
Improve Your Child’s Oral Health
“We go out of our way to make sure that your child’s first visit to our office is relaxing and positive.”
Our Aurora pediatric dentist, Dr. Yazdani, and his staff do everything they can to ensure that children feel comfortable during their first visit. Taking care of your teeth is vital for dental development and regular visits to the dentist are an important aspect of maintaining good oral health in children.
Yazdani Dental offers pediatric dentistry in Aurora to help keep your child’s teeth healthy and strong! The Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends dental check-ups at least twice a year for most children, and your child’s first visit should start no later than the age of two. If your child has unusual growth patterns or an increased risk of tooth decay he/she may need to visit the office more often.
During the initial check-up, we will discuss your child’s medical and dental history. Your child’s teeth will be examined and cleaned to remove any plaque that could cause tooth decay.
Learn the Importance of Brushing and Flossing Early On
Your child’s fluoride status will be evaluated and a fluoride solution may be applied to prevent cavities and strengthen teeth. During this visit, we will teach you and your child the proper techniques for cleaning teeth, such as brushing, flossing, and maintaining a proper diet.
The first visit to the dentist should be a fun and enjoyable one! Your child should be informed of the visit, but leave the details of the visit up to the dentist and staff to explain.
You are invited to stay with your child during the initial examination, but prospective visits without your presence in the room will allow us to establish a closer rapport with your child more easily. Our objective is to gain your child’s confidence and overcome their apprehension. However, if you choose, you may come with your child to the treatment room.
After treatment and cleaning, we will review ways to encourage healthy brushing for your child so that they can effectively clean their teeth at home.
Keep Your Child’s Smile Beautiful!
Even if your child has never had a cavity, they can still benefit from regular visits to assess any changes in your child’s oral growth and development. We will also be able to identify any orthodontic problems and suggest future treatment options that will keep your child’s smile beautiful as they grow.
Dr. Yazdani, Wendy, and all of the staff have over 15 years of experience working in Aurora’s pediatric dentistry. They have been trained to work with children and will talk to your child in a way that they will understand using words, pictures, and ideas.
